NEW regular posts - The Diary of a Designer Bride-to-Be!
Well happy Wednesday to you! As some of you will know, I recently got engaged to my lovely man (squeeeeeeeal!) which has just been the most wonderous and exciting thing in the world. I literally catch myself grinning like a crazy lady in the middle of the day for no reason... it's brilliant!
For someone like me, the process of planning and 'designing' a wedding is one of the most exciting things that I could possibly do. I mean, it's that clichéd fairytale 'dreamt about it ever since I was a little girl' kind-of thing. (Although in reality I was much more concerned about animal welfare and ra-ra skirts when I was little).
So, wedding planning has now commenced and it's brilliant. However, I'm finding that being a designer, and specifically working within the wedding industry a lot, as well as finding it exciting, creative and inspiring, I'm also finding it a bit overwhelming, scary and pressurising! In a silly kind of way, I'm overfaced with inspiration, ideas and knowledge - Pinterest is in equal measures my friend and my worst enemy. WHERE DO I START??! And don't even get me started on the stationery.... Worst. Client. EVER.
Because of this, I will now be writing a (semi) regular feature diarising the different stages of planning and design, from more of a design-perspective including mood boards, ideas, design processes and of course stress-level updates.
I will be sharing my journey beginning with THE ring, dress, flowers, stationery (gulp), decor and anything in between. Probably cat-related things if I'm honest.
Please stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled for the next installment of the Diary of a 'Designer' Bride-to-Be!
